Dry Edge Labels

Luminer can supply solutions for that difficult to label product such as:

• Carpet backing
• Tires
• Lumber
• Concrete blocks
• Floor tile
• Lumber

Hard to label surfaces such as carpet backing and lumber require a heavy adhesive coat weight allowing the adhesive to "fill the voids" on an irregular, textured or low energy surface. These materials have limitations for the converter as well as the end user. Commercially available label stocks with heavy coat weight aggressive adhesives are difficult to die-cut and remove waste, edge ooze problems create headaches such as blocking in the roll, rolls sticking together and the end user is limited to hand application as it is impossible to feed thru application equipment or thermal printers. Pattern coated dry edge labels eliminate these issues.

Paper or film face stocks are pattern coated with a heavy coat weight of aggressive high tack rubber based adhesive leaving a 1/16" dry edge around the perimeter of the label. The dry edge eliminates any adhesive "ooze" issues allowing the labels to be handled and processed thru printers and label applicators trouble free.
